DigiByteは2014年1月10日にブロックチェーンが開始されたアルトコインです。
2020年になっても南米を中心に海外では根強い人気があるようで、開発は継続されております。
特徴としてよく説明されている機能は以下だったと思います。

これは後にEthereum, Bitcoin Cash, Zcash, Dogecoin, Startcoin, AuroraCoin, BitcoinGold,BitTokens, CasinoCoin, CreativeCoin, Granite, Huncoin, Monacoin, Mooncoin,

ビットコイン、ライトコインに先駆け2017年4月に実装されて話題になりました。
・スマートコントラクトの実装というのもありましたがどうなったのでしょうね
また2017年6月にMineCraft（マインクラフト）というゲーム内でDidiByteがマイニング出来る！？という情報がどこからか広まってきて一時的に高騰した記憶があります。

2018年以降から日本ではあまり知名度が無くなってしまっていたようですが、
その後にローンチした機能もいろいろありました。
「DandeLion++」「Digi-ID」「Digi-Assets」
という３つの機能はかなり面白いと感じました。
・DandeLion++
プライバシー強化のために送信者のIPアドレスを難解にするプロトコルDandeLion++がGrin、Beam、Zcoinに次いで採用されました
・Digi-ID
現在Webサイトやアプリケーションなどにサインアップ/サインインする際に「ユーザID、パスワード」を入力することが一般的ですが、Digi-IDを使うことでログイン承認方式を採用しているサイトにDigi-IDアプリをインストールしたスマホでQRコードを読み取り、自分のPinコード（４桁）を入力するだけでサインインが可能になります。

実際に試してみましたが、楽チンでした！
（ただ、スマホでログインするようなサイトには利用できないので応用が必要かも）
なお、Digi-ID用のアプリは「Digi-ID/AntumlID」です。
iOS版、Android版のどちらもあります。
「Digi-ID/Simple」というアプリもありますが、Android版しかありませんでした。
・Digi-Assets
DigiByteプラットフォームで使うDigiAseet（独自トークン）を作成できます。
以下DigiAssets Toolsというサイトでアカウント（Wallet）を作成してから、アセットを簡単に作成できます。
1つのDigiAseetを作成するために500DGBが必要です。

DigiByte-MobileWalletアプリのβ版もDigi-IDとDigiAssetにも対応しているような記載が公式サイトにあったのでアプリをダウンロードしたのですが、その機能は見当たりませんでした・・・（そのうちローンチされるのでしょうか？）
あまり注目していなかったDigiByteですが、独自トークン作成出来たり、Digi-ID認証方式によるログインがかなり使い勝手良かったため面白味を感じてしまいました。
